im only 16 but have started to lose my hair. it's only just started so i can cover my hairline just by growing my hair out. i've been using rogaine for the past year and its managed to slow down the hair loss but i think i'm still losing hair. i don't know how i should fix this. if i got an HT just to restore my hairline, it would be harder to appply the rogaine to my non-transplanted hair. or i would have to use propecia but that seems kind of expensive. any suggestions?

At 16 no-one will work on you, and you shouldnt even consider a HT until 25 in my opinion. The only suggestion I can make is to stay on the rogaine. I dont know if there is an age limit on Propecia but when old enough i would suggest. BTW Proscar is cheaper and is just as effective as propecia. It's tough losing hair and especially at such a young age, but did you know that now a days the style is shaving your head. Maybe give that a shot for the summer and see how you like that.

George,

Losing hair at such an early age can be quite emotional however, dakota is 100% right. Hair transplantation is not for you at this time. Maybe in the future.

Speak with your physician about possibly using Propecia (typically not recommended for patients under 18) and keep using Rogaine.

Best wishes,

Falc
