i have posted on here a few times before but not shown photos to here a few. keep in mind my hair is long right now so it is hard to see the extent of the thinning.
on the first pic it put lines in to show the extend of the miniturization.
but anyways thanks for any feedback.
lighting is inside natural light but perhaps not enough.

With your age and light diffused thinning, you should start out with Propecia and Rogaine Foam for a year and see where you stand before considering a ht. It would be good to halt/slow the hairloss progression anyway with the two meds. Consult with a ht doctor who will put your best interest in mind and have a long term plan for you. I think most doctors will advise the meds first. Good luck.

jw34,

Janna has given you some excellent advice. Propecia should be used for at least a year before determining whether or not it is working. But let me ask you, has your hair loss slowed down or stopped since using it?

As Janna suggested, you may want to add Rogaine Foam into your regime.

Even if these two hair loss drugs don't help you regrow hair, if at the very least, it stops or slows down your hair loss, you can then discuss hair transplantation with an elite surgeon who will work with you to best help you obtain and meet realistic hair restoration goals.

I hope this helps.

jw34,

When were the photos you posted taken? Are they current pics or before getting on Propecia? You said you've been taking Propecia for 6 months, has it always been 1/2 dosage of .5mg per day? I think rogaine foam is worth a try.

i took them yesterday, so this would be around 6 months after, little to no improvments. i can only handle.5mg cause if i ever try to go over that i just have to much side effects, i was on the foam for about a month and while on it i was shedding sooooo bad it freaked me out, i had to stop, and none of that shedded hair has come back

BTW, i had a virtual cosultation w hasson and wong,(using these same pics) and he reccommended i give/stay on the meds for 6 more months, but he also said i could do 2000 grafts, but have a reallly conservative hairline to save for future loss?
how does that sound?

6 more months would make it a year. It's too bad you didn't like rogaine foam. Did you try using half dosage? The recommendation from H&W sounds like a good plan. Good luck to you.
