I was wondering if there was formula used to figure out how many hairs were transplanted to your recipiant site? I see number's like 45 sq cm and so on, how did you guys figure it out?

Dr. Feller came up with and shared a novel approach to finding out exactly what your density per square centimeter is after surgery:

If you want to know how many grafts were actually implanted you can get a good idea by taking a photo of the recipient area just after surgery. Make sure to put a ruler in the picture for scale, then import the image into photoshop. Create a 1cm sq box and overlay it over 3 random areas of the recipient area. Count the grafts per sq cm and take an average. Now you know how many grafts you received and it is DOCUMENTED! - Dr. Alan Feller

I think it would be a great idea to do this to further document your post-op progress.

Generally people speak of grafts per cm2 because that's what the Dr. told them they got. They don't actually count them themselves.

That's cool. We are in the same time frame. My procedure was Sept 28. I also am seeing some fine hairs coming out. Very exiting.
