I am planning to move to Costa Rica, Does anyone know of some good Drs. down there for hair transplants. I know that the cost of doing a HT there is a lot cheaper than the US. I also know most of the Drs. there are US trained. My brother-in law has lived thee for 7 years and says that HT are about 940.00 for 4,000 hairs. Is anyone else familiar with the Drs. or a very good one in Costa Rica?

Western_Star,

Long time, no see! Glad to have you back on the forums!

Have you checked out Dr. Arthur Tykocinski of Brazil? Though it may be a hike from Costa Rica, Pat personally visited his clinic a few months ago and was so impressed Dr. Tykocinski was immediately offered membership in the Coalition.

You can read about that here.

You can see a couple of patient cases posted recently in these threads:

2,230 FUT

1,985 FUT

Check him out and welcome back!

-Robert

W_S,

It definitely sounds like you are going to have to travel to get the "quality competent" surgeon as Robert eluded to. Dr. Tykocinski is a very talented surgeon utilizing the "ultra-refined" methods of FU grafting and susequently produces some very natural appearing results. Best wishes to you on your search.

Western Star,

Good to see you back on the forum. I spent some time in CR and the HT surgeons I saw did not look up to speed with their cousins to the North. But please let me know if you find a gem down there in paradise.

But short of this discovery, you may want to stick to enjoying the mountains, beaches and wild life in CR and leave the HT surgery to a North American surgeon.

Then fly post op to Arenal for the hot volcano springs at Tabacon for your recovery. Just don't get sun burned on the beach. Cool

Best wishes for a great life in CR. I hope you enjoy all the wild life Wink

Hey Guys, I have always been here, just looking and listening. Pat, were you able to get the price he charges for grafts. I know Costa Rica is a little higher living than Brazil and so it must be cheaper. Friend of mine just had a face lift, cost her 3800 dollars in CR. Would of cost 10 to 16000 here in US. Brazil must be a lot cheaper. Robert, you have any of the latest pics on yours? Where would I find them?

Western Star,

If you are open to doing surgery out of North America I highly recommend you consider Dr. Tyckocinski in Sao Paulo. I know him well and I have seen the very advanced coronal ultra refined procedure he does. I can assure you that his work is as technically and artistically top notch as anyone in North America. He is truly on the cutting edge.

He also is great person and speaks English.

To check him out visit http://www.regrowhair.com/DrDetail.asp?DrID=57&DrName=D...0Arthur%20Tykocinski

Best wishes for living in Costa Rica.

Thanks Pat. I think I will look him up and talk with him. I have had an emergency pop up here in Laredo, so i have to put it off for a little bit but I will be talkig to him very soon. Besides, what a way to live. On the beach in South America.

Robert, I looked at the Drs. site from Brazil but I cna't read it because everything is in Spanish. You need to get a hold of him and tell him to put some things in English. That woould help his site very much I think.

Western,

If you look at the upper right-hand corner of the home page of the site you will see a little American flag to click. That will convert the text to English.
