I'm having a walk-in clinic remove my stitches tomorrow; will this hurt badly? I've got some pain pills left over, should I take one before?

Will a regular doc have any trouble with this tricho(howeveryouspellit) closure?

Any recommendations?

Dewayne.

It's not that big of a deal.
From what i understand...most of the docs techs remove the stitches.
One of my docs techs removed my stitches.

Funny you should mention the painkillers.
I took half a painkiller before having my stitches removed.
The tech chuckled when I told her I did...she said it wasn't the worst idea.

At the very worst it stings a little.

Also...doesn't matter what type of closure...just removing stitches.

Dewayne,

Stitch removal is typically no big deal. You may feel a little bit of stinging, but nothing that can't be handled without pain medication.

Of course, we all have different pain tolerances, but once the stitches are removed, it will be a good feeling!

FREE AT LAST!

They are out. Only a little stinging on those on the two sides where they were tied up. The nurse said Dr. Cooley did an excellent job as well, and she didn't think it would be noticeable in a few months.

I was happy to hear it, as this is a nurse who owns this walk-in clinic (the dr. works for her) and she's been doing this for about 20 years. I even told her it was scar revision and taking old plugs out, not a new ht.

I don't think she could tell. If this stuff actually grows, this whole experience has exceeded my expectations by about 100 miles.
