I'm noticing lots of blog pics where people's recipient areas are trimmed very short for surgery. Is this always neccessary? I though good doctors didn't need to do this? (HT's in question were done by Shapiro, Siporin)

I gotta say that scares the F out of me. Don't think I could go around with my head shaved down like that.

Not all doctors do this. It is an option in my practice. However, I do prefer to have a shaven recipient site because it does help make the process go faster and more efficiently.
