hey all-

two quick questions

1. it seems like there's some redness associated with healing at the graft sites. how long does that usually take to fade? is there any noticable scarring?

2. how long does it seem to take for a strip donor site to heal up (again, the redness). does mederma work any better than vitamin e oil?

thanks! just trying to get a sense of the aftermath as i do my research.

Supercool, redness car vary greatly from person to person. For some, after a few days it is gone, for others it can last months. There is NO scarring in the recipient area IF you go to a top doctor.

It definitely varies from person-to-person but it also depends heavily on the nature of the incisions and graft placement that the physician utilizes. A patient of a physician that utilizes ultra refined follicular unit hair restoration with clean incisions and tight, careful graft placement will most likely heal much faster with the recipient area looking much more natural in a much shorter time.

For a great example of rapid healing due to clean and refined surgery, check out the patient of Dr. Bernstein's:
