I'd appreciate anyone's opinion. I am thinking about just shaving and being done with it. Any honest opinions. There's still some hair but I guess you can make out the general shape of my scalp??

Your head isn't shaped odd. Try it out and like mission said being toned always helps.

mm76,
Clearly this is a choice only you can make. But in my opinion, go for it. It's really the only way you can really know whether or not it's a look you like on yourself. It seems that (from this angle), that you still have a good amount of hair left though. Remind me, have you tried Propecia and Rogaine? thanks for the responses. just generally wondering if my head appears to be suitable.
This pic is slightly old - i still have a hair line, however, its thinner now. I haven't tried any meds (i dont think I will and plus my concern is the frontal area - which these apparently dont appear to address). I generally have thin hair, went to an HT clinic and was told that i possibly have about 6000 grafts (no prior ht). My hair is black, I have fair skin - so all the bad variables. I figure perhaps shaving would be the way to go. |

nm- give it a try. that is the only way you will know if you like it/can get away with it. Once you go down the HT route, you will always wonder what if I had just shaved down.
I gave it a try and from the profile (any profile pics of myself I typically hate) and back I actually did not mind it. From the front though, I could not stand it. Some friends said it looked fine, while some suggested I grow it back. If you clicked my link in my signature, I have two pics of when I shaved down. I tried it, did not like it, and ultimately went down the HT road. You never know, you may really like it. A lot of guys look good with it buzzed down. And if anything, what you have will grow back. |

I think you do for sure BUT I also think it looks pretty good the way it is nice and tight in the picture.

You look good with a shaved head, no worries, and if you can deal with baldness and just shave it, then good on you. I think i could live with being bald and accept it, i just don't want to, and i am vain.

You have a good shaped head.. just as I do. I would literally give up my left nut if I could undo my HT, and mine is undetectable (so far.) Worst mistake of my life. Do yourselff a favor and buzz or shave your head. Great look. Saves money and worry. How I wish I had a time machine!

I would have to say that I feel the same. If I could go back and undo it I would just let nature take it's course and go bald. But whats done is done and we have to live with our mistakes. Sucks!! |

regretht and dakota3:
Is the reason you regret your HT because of the results or that you've gone down a road you can't turn back from? (as in will require more HT's in the future) I'm not sure why you would regret an undetectable HT unless it's because of the lost money. nm76: Yea, your head shape looks totally natural and you would look fine shaved. In fact, after people see you that way you would look odd to them to have hair. The shaved look is a lot more of a style these days. Even guys with full heads of hair commonly shave. I call it the "UFC" effect. MMA fighters typically shave or buzz their heads so the hair won't interfer in their bouts. A lot of younger guys emulate this and shave too. It really has become a preferred look. |
