I recently read an article stating that the 2% Rogaine for women is not strong enough and the 5% is recommended. I've also been advised the same thing by Shapiro Medical Group. I've been using 2% Rogaine for almost a year and a half with no visible results. I've starting using the 5% though it is heavier and oilier than the 2%. Using it in the morning is difficult because of the greasy look and feel it gives my hair.
Can't it just be used at night only? I was talking with a nurse from a dermo clinic recently and she advised me not to bother using the 2% but to go straight to the 5%. But, when I last used Minodoxil years ago (2%) my scalp became encrusted after only one month so I stopped using it. But, I'm thinking of having another go - any thoughts?

I'm sure it can be used at night only, but it's not going to be as effective as using it as recommended I'm guessing. It's so hard to get any visible results as it is, I don't think I'd risk using only once daily.
