actually, you are aware that your hair can "shed" when you start taking rogaine, correct? If it begins to shed then this is a good thing because it means its working and is regrowing new hair.

How long does this shedding phase last? I have just recently started taking propecia since early january and would like to start using rogain but sighh at a temporary loss of additional hair. Im 20 with a receeding hairline and was somewhat under the assumption that propecia would aid in the frontal region...

lol, I have vacations and parties to attend to this summer and would rather not start it off with looking worse than I did before.....shit

just a quick question. i realized today that if rogaine is only meant to be applied on the crown(because thats where it is said it works only according to the box) do they mean apply 2ml per day just alone in the crown? because ijust realized ive been spreadin git all over my head and it might need the whoel 2ml on the spot to be applied right? am i right or am i wrong?

AdamM:
it's all relative, but from my understanding just for the first couple of months (2-3) which would indicate that your a good responder to it, as the hairs which are temporarily shedding are making room for new growth...

Jupiter:
I don't think you need to WEIGH it. When I tried it, I just slapped some on my palm and rubbed it all over my noggin...
but that's just me though...

notgoing2gobald, he is measuring it, not weighing it. I think it is far better than just pouring it in your palm and going for it with no consistency. I think the recommended 1ml dose is hard to apply over the whole MPB area (including the frontal sides), and impossible if you have long hair. I have long hair and I use 2ml per application, so that’s 4ml of Rogaine a day. I don’t recommend it to others, but I’ve gotten no side effects other than a twice as expensive monthly bill ($60). I live in Australia, so brand-name Rogaine is more expensive. I also don’t believe cheaper generics are of the same quality Minoxidil and ingredients.

uh---ok,
but I think MOST people just "eye-ball" it
and that's what I meant by slappin' that white foam in my palm (enter joke here)
and rubbin' it in my noggin'...

Judging by Jupe's prev. posts he seems a lil OCD (no offense Jupiter Razz)
-hence-
the sarcasm...

So the question is, how long does the temporary loss last? I too have functions coming up in the next couple of months and do not want signs of loss. I am hesitant to start the application, because of temporary shed. I am on fin now, so if I wait a couple of months is it going to hurt my results? Thank you.
