anyone ever bought 15%minox from hairscripts.com? they claim to have a "carrier agent" that neutralizes the alcohol in minox allowing it to penetrate to the dermal papilla instead of just the scalp.sounds like they're trying to be different than the others with marketing hype.I'm thinking of buying 15% minox xandrox from dr.lee.any help, much appreciated.

jeff,
I haven't seen any evidence that 15% minoxidil works better than 5% truth be told. I also know there are a number of so called carrier agents that is supposed to help with absorption into the scalp. Most topical products have them. Which one is best however, I'm not sure. Falc To learn about how I restored my hair, read my hair restoration story with pictures. See also my hair loss weblog. thanx for the quick reply falceros. i might try dr.lee's xandrox for a few months, and or just stick with walmart's 5% minox. I've been without health ins. for many yrs. but i'm going to a doc tues. to see about getting a prescrip for fin. i can get it through a place that i've used for people without ins.the fin is 40$ for 90 tabs which i can split and make last for 1 yr. i've been on an anti-depressant(remeron) off/on for about 7 yrs. and i think it contributed to my receeding hairline and thinning on top.i've read alot of posts on depression msg boards and alot of men/women are complaining about remeron & other anti-depressants causing hairloss which the drug co's don't mention in the possible side effects. suprise! wellbutrin is one that's known for having the least sexual side effect, but i read atleast a dozen posts on one page where people were complaining about the drug causing hairloss. i was thinking about taking that one. i don't know if i will ever take another anti-d drug again. i'm so sick and depressed wearing ball caps the last 5yrs. i wish i had the $ for ht's. i read one post on this site or another one whereby someone said that a 30% minox cream worked wonders for them. dr.lee has said that creams/lotions don't penetrate as well as the liquid minox.

jeffsm,
How much hair loss have you experienced? Where do you fall on the norwood scale? And how old are you? Hair transplantation may or may not be right for you at this time, but if it's something you are considering, spend some time researching and start saving money now. You may also want to consider Propecia (finasteride), an oral FDA hair loss drug for men only. Using minoxidil and finasteride together gives you the greatest chance of stopping your hair loss and stimulating hair regrowth. I can certainly understand the emotional side you are going through with losing your hair. I too didn't leave the house without a hat. With it, I felt young and alive, without it, I felt like an old ugly man. If there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know. Best wishes, Falc To learn about how I restored my hair, read my hair restoration story with pictures. See also my hair loss weblog.
