Dr Feller old post below - but just came across it as it was referred to me by a perspective patient:
This patient visited us two years after we performed an 1,800 graft procedure on the first 1.5 inches of scalp- including his hairline. He had been to several other HT doctors for consultation who only recommended about 800 grafts for that small area due to "vascular" concerns. He went with us and was happy to report that not only was this not the case, but that his hair never entered the "sleep phase", a rare but welcome occurance. Clearly no vasuclar issues here. He is an excellent example of the need to consistently create and implant ultra refined grafts in great numbers. Any lower density and he would have had a stalky and relatively unnatural look in my opinion. As it is now, 2 years later, he does not need to touch his hairline anymore. Fortunately, he still had his bridge hair at the time (you can see in one of the before photos how he used to sweep it down to look like a hairline), so we only needed to pack 1,800 grafts. But if he didn't have that top hair, he would have needed at least 3,500 grafts or more. Now that he is begin to lose his bridge hair and crown hair he is scheduled to do 3,500 grafts,or more, from behind the hairline to the crown. His visit is particularly timely since the discussion of ultra-megasessions and dense packing is part of the present dialog. At the time of his surgery we had just started to pack large numbers of ultra refined grafts into smaller areas of scalp to produce the most natural and dense look. In his case, it took 1,800 grafts packed into a realatively small area of scalp to achieve the goal. Imagine how it would look if we put just 800 or 1,000 grafts into this area using non-refined techniques. In the BEFORE photo his hair is swept back and the bald frontal area exposed. I left the line I used to demark the hairline in for reference. In the after you can see our trademark "puff" of hair and a hairline he could comb back and expose for all to see After- Frontal view In Before picture the lines makes the area we intend to fill in very obvious. Before shows the bare area with demarcation lines. The AFTER shows the area filled exculsively with transplants. NO native hair in that photo at all, just ultra refined transplants packed tightly. I'd like to know why this person is still losing hair after being cured by Dr Feller. If Feller Medical is not curing these people then they should stop making the outrageously false claims that a hair transplant is a cure for hairloss.
Using laser brush since 7/26/07. Working great so far. |

Where are these "outragous flase "claims, out of interest? Where has Dr Feller stated that Ht's prevent native hair from continuing to fall out? - Please can you linkus Behappy - Hairloss is progressive - you can help stop/slow down further loss of existing native hair via meds but Doc's do not have a magic wand to stop existing hairs continuing loss, unfortunately. This is the reason many take meds such as Propecia and Adovart to prevent further loss. Maybe this patient was anti meds as many are. The areas HT'd will remain and HT hair will continue to grow - (are these the claims you refer to?) but native hair always is at risk of thinning and falling out over time due to DHT. This is where appropriate planning and "donor management " comes in WITH A LONG TERM PLAN. A good Doc will have the patients best interest at heart and plan accordingly for the individual long term and take into account further loss and effectively manage that individual patients donor supply so that there is always the supply to meet the possible long term demand in the recipient area IF existing native hair continues to fall out over time. Hope this makes sense to you. Man, that looks great. And what's sad is compared to what I had, this dude looked pretty good in his "before" picture to me.
And I thought mine was ok..... I hope we all chill out over the Dr. Feller thing, as I think he is sincerely trying to help people. The two issues; the laser comb and a scar too low are real issues. I don't think a dr. like Farjo is cutting them too low, but there are docs all over the world who are doing people a real disservice with poor work. Sometimes there's 'collateral damage' though. 300 'mini' grapfts by Latham's Hair Clinic - 1991 (Removed 50 plugs by Cooley 3/08.) 2750 FU 3/20/08 by Dr. Cooley Current regimen: 1.25 mg Proscar M-W-F Rogaine 5% Foam - once daily AndroGel - once daily Lipitor - 5 mg every other day Weightlifting - 2x per week Jogging - 3x per week |

He is up there and available to be got at - so human nature is to want to pull him down and have pops at him - I think the problem is he stands up and gets counted - He doesn't AVOID things and gives his opinion to help many others gain much more accurate information than they would normally. - He is one of the only Doctors who actually comes fwd to give his opinion and stands by it - unlike most who would rather stay quiet and avoid topics in the hope they get brushed under the carpet and fade away than actually get into any kind of debate or answer direct questions when asked of them even repetitively - Some come fwd WHEN they absolutely have to - Feller comes fwd because he actaully wants to - Thats the difference. Spex,
I think you may want to read the laser therapy debate. Dr. Feller did state "Oh, and Be Happy, I do have a cure of hairloss, it's called hair transplantation" I have already challenged him on this on the link above. In my opinion, it's a very misleading statement and I've stated my reasons on that thread. BeHappy's statement was not out of the blue however, I ask that this discussion stay in one place which would be best suited for the thread I linked above. I hadn't read that Laser topic and never do read them as they are a waste of time IMHO - Especially since the £4,000 ($8000) I dropped on Laser treatment years ago thanks to the scammers AHS! - with ABSOLUTELY NO results! - I wasted enough time already on "Lasers" so no need for me to sift through it - I already know the outcome.
Still his comment is completely irrelevant here and out of context.
