I just had a HT about 90 days ago and I noticed that only the first front row, the perameter is growing in. There are some sparse hairs here and there, but it still looks bald and no sign of anything "sprouting" for the most part.
It looks like one side of my head has more hairs growing in than the other side. Can the techs have something to do with this? I was wondering if maybe the tech on one side was less competant than the other, because one side is growing much better. I had my procedure done at Peterson Medical (California in Beverly Hills, Diamond Bar and Newport Beach.) Does anyone know of him and what was your experience like with him. Also, there is one spot on my on the donor site that doesnt seem to want to heal and its alittle sore. Is all this normal progress for a HT? kn |

It's too early to get alarmed. It can take an average of 10-12 weeks for regrowth to begin. You're at 12 weeks, and since we are talking about averages, some guys might take longer.
The fact that one side seems better than the other is a little disturbing, but it is still a bit early to push the panic button. Hang on for a few more weeks, and contact the clinic if there are any doubts. However, I looked at the Peterson Medical website, and that bad news is that they look like a bad choice for a hair transplant. For one thing, it says they use Minigrafts and Micrografts, which are not the most natural looking grafts to get. Read the article "The Best Procedure" over on the left, to learn what the state-of-the-art procedure is. Unfortunately, Peterson Medical is about 10 years behind the times. Sadly, most of the doctors use the older techniques because it is easier, faster and more profitable. If you decide to get more procedures, or want a doctor to check you out in person, look at the "Find a Great Surgeon" section here, to get some suggestions on who might be good. I got a sick feeling looking at the Peterson Medical website, with their so-called "Easy-Graft method". You can do MUCH better than them... http://www.easygraft.com/index.html |

What is the average amount of growth seen at 3 mths. 10%, 20% 50%- I'm just hoping that I see
much more than I have now. I don't really have any complaints at this time, just hoping that I get a heck of alot more hair than I see at this time. Some spots look so bald still that I wonder if anything will ever grow there and other spots are growing like a weed. I guess I should relax and wait a year until I see the final results. Kevin. kn |

Anyone here had an area in the donor site that wouldnt heal properly.
There is one spot that is sore and it won't heal over the disolvable stitch. Its been almost 4 months and I'm thinking of returning to the doc to see if he can just remove the stitch himself instead of waiting for it to disolve. Anyone with some insight or same situation? Thanks, Kevin kn |
