Bear in mind that you don't NEED to take 3g per day, this is just a guideline. Some folks take less, some take more. MSM is primarily meant for joints, and as a side effect MIGHT help with the growth of your EXISTING hair (and nails). But there is no scientific proof of that. It seems to work for me but I can't tell for sure since I started MSM shortly after starting Finasteride.
What MSM manufacturers agree on is that crystals are the most efficient way of taking it (preferably with fruit juice) followed by capsules. Tablets/caplets are not as good, but they're cheaper!

You can get MSM cheaper at grocery stores/wal-marts ect. than at GNC or supplement stores.
Yes, 3mg is the guideline-- and if you dont weigh alot- I would go down to 2 mg a day?
Also, if you drink it with grapefruit juice it will increase the absorption into the blood- so you might not need as much?
