Good luck Falc. One last hair transplant for the road Smile You got your laptop to keep you company. You still get nervous before surgery, or no big deal?

Leeson,

Yep, I can't live without my laptop - I have to stay in touch with the world, even from abroad. It's such a nice city though, so I'm gonig to take some time to tour it before surgery tomorrow. However, like yesterday, it seems to be another miserable rainy day - I'm hoping it will clear up later.

Petchski,

Thanks man. Though I've been through this several times before, there's always just a little bit of nerves before going under the knife, even as a veteran. Of course, I'm confident in my choice. Frankly, the day I'm dreading is the flight home after surgery since my wife isn't here with me this time. Bummer.

Mr. GQ,

Yep, tomorrow is the day. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and of course, acquiring even more hair :-).

My Hair Loss Blog has been updated with several before pictures (both with hair and without) and immediately after photos.

Be sure also to check out my Mr. T sporting do in one of my blog entries. I couldn't help being just a little goofy for the camera :-)

Congrats on your latest procedure. The pics are amazing and a testament to your commitment to get a full head of hair.

Question- to me it looked like you were doing pretty good after the third procedure. Are you at all concerned about potential shock loss due to the injected drugs or the close proximity of the latest graft sites? One month after my HT i feel I have less visible hair than when I started, so I would like to hear from a pro if shock loss was/is a concern for you on this fourth HT.

I nominate you for the Chia-Head Award for 2009

PS. I think a big zipper handle would look great at one end of your staple track as a decoration. I don't think anyone will mess with you sporting one of those.

miked,

There is always the potential risk of temporary shock loss. Considering however, it's all transplanted hair (no natural hair left), I'm not concerned about anything permanent. Also, Dr. Hasson's use of minimally invasive blades will help minimize the trauma to the scalp. Dr. Hasson will also argue that since my head was shaved and he could see the angles of the existing hair better, there is a less liklihood of traumatizing the surrounding hair. I'm sitting here on day 6 and the top of the head looks pretty clean and most scabs are already gone.

I will say however, that I'm hoping for minimal recipient area and donor area shock loss. But aren't we all? :-)

The top of head photos look particularly sweet. And it seems like you've not had much "Cro Magnon man" swelling yet!

Hi Falc,

Looks good. It appears as though you had the 2k grafts distributed throughout your scalp rather than concentrating on one particular area ...? Looking at your pre-4th HT pics I thought you might concentrate on the crown area. Though it had coverage it was weaker than other areas, however no doubt with whatever the crown recieves it will only stregthen it. Looks like lots of nice denisty will be added to the frontal area which will vastly improve the density from the front under even harsh lighting.

Happy healing!

SDM

Thanks for the reply. your 6 day pics look awesome. I wish I could have sported a shaved look now that I see yours.

Ive heard that shock loss can happen from the meds they inject during the HT and not just because of transacted follicles. Is that true? if so do you know if some sedative meds are kinder than others on the hairs?.

Hello Falc,
Its been a while but I hardly get a chance to check my inbox. Its good to hear from you. I hope you are doing well and things are going great for you. You still look great Falc!
Yes, I am happy with the results. Quite a difference from before eh?
Although it IS covered, its still thin in the area and when I put gel on my hair, you can see the balding there.
However, Dr Wong stated to me that the hair is still growing thicker which was good to hear. I think in a few more months the hair will be at its fullest in thickness which Im looking forward to. Nevertheless, a huge improvement.
Take care and God bless.
Qbert =)

its752,

I'm just over 2 months now and have been a bit lax in reporting my progress or taking any new photos. I should at the very least, take some photos now for comparision purposes in a few months. But since it's so early, there's no new activity to report. I'll keep you and everyone posted.

Thanks for your interest,

Bill (Falc)
