Hi,
I am interested in getting hair transplant surgery and i am only 22 but my hair line is drastically different and is now dissapearing all together. I was looking for information on what a specialist here might suggest? Is this a good doctor? I am also going back to Vermont, is there any good Doctors in Boston that some may suggest? What questions should i ask when i go for my consultation tomorrow? I am really interested in the thoughts of others who are well informed and knowledgable on this subject, i am also a college student with hardly any money so that is also a factor. Very interested in a list of questions i should ask at the conseltation. Thank you very much.

The website is http://www.hrgnova.com/

Richard P. Giannotto, MD has been performing hair restoration surgery exclusively for over sixteen years. As a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who studied microsurgical techniques during his residency, he made the transition to microsurgical hair restoration with the utmost surgical skill and artistry.

Mcduke,

Welcome to our community.

Please slow down and do some solid online research and carefully consider all potential treatments and physicians. As for Dr. Richard P. Giannotto in my opinion, while he may sound good on paper and he talks a great game (on and offline) his real reputation is poor in my opinion based on what I have heard from physicians, former patients and employees.

Also consider doctors outside of your immediate area to assure the very best resuls.

Are you on Propecia/Finasteride? I suggest you strongly consider it.

Best wishes, Pat

Pat's right Duke about the research

There are too many good docs to risk going to someone you are unsure of. Start with the coalition doctors and then speak with them while doing some research to find out your options

McDuke,

As you heard from several others....research is KEY to finding a good physician. It's also important to know what you are getting yourself into...so learning about hair transplantation and all the factors that go along with it is important.

My advice:

1. Research
2. Consult a doctor about getting on finasteride to prevent further loss
3. Consider trying minoxodil (especially if your crown is thinning)
4. Try the medication and LEAST 6 months to a year before even CONSIDERING a hair transplant
5. In the meantime...continue to research and learn
