Hello All,

I had a hair transplant procedure from New Look MD. I had a lot swelling afterwards but overall it wasn't too bad. Was considering a second procedure to fill in the crown more completely but what really bothers me is the scar. I have this huge scar on the back of my head that very apparent unless I have my hair cut with a #5 guard or longer - and my hair is fairly dense - was losing it on the crown and that bugged me - otherwise was good. In viewing some of the photos on this site, I've been concerned that alot of folks seem to have recieved more precise suturing and correspondingly less prominent scars. Who is the best doc for minimizing the appearance of scarring? What is the best procedure? I figure if I'm going to go through that ordeal again and take time off from work, at the very least I want the current scar tissue removed and a tighter, more meticulous job of suturing the second time so I'm not walking around with an apparent scar.

Thanks everyone.

S

I would agree with stumper, those guys are the Big 3 in hair transplant. With a second transplant they may be able to minimize the scar with a new incision and using the new trico closure make it much less prominent. At a later date you may even be able to use a FUE procedure to fill in the scar area too if you wish for the ultimate appearance. Check around with these docs and send them a photo in the online consultation and see what they have to say. Let us know what happens. Good Luck!

itwasjustanidea,

Welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear about your scarring. An evident scar unless you are wearing a #5 guard or higher with dense donor area is definitely a bad scar.

Stumper and Cousin_It pointed out 3 excellent clinics (4 excellent doctors) that would be able to help you. Additionally, you can check out any of the other coalition doctors and have consults with them. Link below:

All these docs have proven to use the latest techniques and have yielded excellent and consistent patient results.

I hope this helps.
