So I'm 26 years old. Ive been contemplating getting a transplant for a long time now, and I was wondering if there is someone in the massachusetts area that anyone could reccomend.
I really don't have any qualms going out of state, money really wouldnt be an object, and (obviously) I would like to find the best possible surgeon I can, but was also wondering if there is anyone in-state. Could anyone help me out with this? Thanks in advance! |

I believe Dr. Feller is on long island, that's not too far away.

Hi elastic,
Welcome, first of all are you currently using any medication to stop hairloss like Propecia or Rogaine. If not I would definately recommend getting on them ASAP just to see if you respond well to them. I would stay on them for about 9 months before considering a HT. It should stabalize your hair loss and help you prevent shockloss from a HT. I would recommend any of the quality doctors in the coalition of independent hair restoration physicians at: http://www.hairlosslearningcenter.org/hair-loss-content...s/our_physicians.asp 1344 grafts with Ron Shapiro - June 2006 |

Elastic, what I would do is look around and do some research and then do at least two or three online/phone consults. Because travel is no issue, I would begin my search with Shapiro Medical Group, H&W, and whomever else you are interested in. I see some have posted Dr. Feller as an option. He is doing some great work as well. All of this depends on how you want to approach your hairloss.
Post some pictures if you can, everyone will have a look-see and you can go from there! |

Elastic,
I'm also 26 yrs old.Recently I had HT with D.r.Feller.Below find my procedure I followed to select the surgeon. 1.I went through this website http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/ and select some of the top reputed surgeons (not based on the geographical region or money) and sent them good clarity pictures in different angles (top, front, left and right). >>select left hand side 'FREE HAIR CONSULT' >>in the next steps you can give your details, you can choose the doctor and also attach images. >>Otherwise you can click on doctor name it takes you to the particular doctor website and click on virtual consultaion link . 2.When sending my pictures I asked how many grafts I needed.(I also sent them 'desired view' picture where I drew hair line how I would like to see 3.After getting all the information I called some of them to clarify some of the things 4.Maintained excel sheet and put all the doctors there to see overall picture...consists forum feedback(particularly any negeive experience),cost, place, possible appointment time,my feedback(..how they clarified my doubts)... 5.selected 3 doctors out of them and went to their clinic...then decided. Might be helpful this..good luck!. |
