Its already three months I have undergone HT, but all my transplanted hairs have not shed yet. They seems to be very firm from the root. There is no sign of new hairs to grow from the places the hairs were shed. May I know generally how long it takes after the transplantation procedure to see the sign of new hair growth ?

Raj_R-

3 months, not 3 weeks, right?? At 3 months, the HT hairs should have shed long ago. New hair may or may not be growing at this point. Everyone is different, but I would guess the average for seeing new hair growth to be between 2 & 4 months.

If I were you, I'd call your HT Doc ASAP and get his/her opinion as why the hairs haven't shed. Is there still scabbing or has that gone away?

May I ask who performed your HT, where you had the grafts placed and how many you received?

Hairbank

1st HT 1-18-05 - 1200 FUT's
2nd HT 2-15-06 - 3886 FUT's Dr. Wong
3rd HT 4-24-08 - 2415 FUT's Dr. Wong

GRAND TOTAL: 7501 GRAFTS

current regimen: 1.25mg finasteride every other day

Hi Raj_R and welcome to the forums.

Let me see if I have this clear...

You are 3 months post op: Some of your transplants shed and some did not. What percent would you say shed verses didn't shed?

Anyway...the ones that didn't shed at this point should keep on growing. New growth can start anywhere between 3-5 months. If you are just 3 months now...hang tight...the journey is just beginning and WAITING is the hardest part.
