My experience at Dr. Cooley's office was nothing short of outstanding. The staff Ailene, Brandi and everyone I came in contact with answered all my questions and made me a 100% comfortable with the procedure. They really listened to my questions and sitatuion. I could not say enough good things about them.
What I really would like to discuss is my results. About six years ago when I was 26 years old I stated losing my hair. I knew I was on the path of baldness by simply looking at all the men in my family. Soon I was on propecia which stopped the hair loss, but did not grow any hair back. Thats when I made the decision to have hair replacement surgery. After extensive research and a few consultations I knew instantly that Dr. Cooley was the right surgeon. What amazed me was that when I called Dr. Cooley's "competitors" they had nothing but nice things to say about his results. They were right. I have had two surgeries; the first surgery in December of 2003 I had 600 graphs on my sides where I had receded (which grew in perfect). After the results I decided to thicken the front center of my hair in September of 2004 (500 graphs).
I felt a little vain for having the procedure done considering I'm only 32 years old and my hair loss wasn't that bad. However, I did not want to wait until I was considered balding or bald. It was well worth it and the right decision. I have received coutless compliments on my hair. Very few people know I had the procedure done- most people ask if I got a diferent hair cut, style or am I letting my hair grow. I also get mistakend for someone 6-7 years younger. Of course the compliments are great, but the true beneift is that I feel very confident about my overall appearance.
Western, COngrats and good luck with your new growth. Most HT wait until they are looking bald to some extend. I like yourself, started having my HT when I first started to thin. My temples started recessing first (that was my 1st HT in the temple regions). Then a couple years later I started to thin a little on top (nobody could notice but myself) that is when I started seeing the now retired Dr. Norwood who over the next 10 years performed HT behind my orginal hairline and among my orginal hair so that when the orginal hairloss started it would be as noticable. This has worked and worked for me. The only down side to being progression/proactive like we are, is that is usually requires multiple surgeries (I've had 5 HT) verus waiting until your somewhat bald and going in for 1 mega session HT. I wouldnt change a thing for me because as a result I was never really bald (which I would have been if I wasnt proactive with HT prior to fallout). Each person is different. Best of luck with your HT>
