Mr. GQ,

Is there any particular reason why you can't purchase it online?

And Canada is a huge country. If you are looking for real suggestions on physical stores, you may want to narrow down your location Smile.

hi Falc,

i never purchased anything online and i never will. indentity theft, not knowing if the product is real/good, refund hustle, S&H fees and probably few more are some of the reasons why. call me paranoid but better safe then sorry, plus i'll be purchasing that product more then once if i happened to like it.

i specified the location in my original post (toronto). cheers Smile

Mr. GQ,

I understand your concerns about identify theft. But then again, how do you know that a cashier who swipes your credit card or receives a personal check with your routing number won't attempt to do the same thing?

Personally, I've been buying things online for over 10 years and have never had a problem. Now that's not to say that the risk isn't there, but I'd say the risk is there no matter where you purchase a product.

The key is buying a product from a reputable store, and secure site (if you do it online).

That said, maybe someone here who is familiar with the Toronto area could give you the name of a physical store. Otherwise, you may want to try Google and type something like "Buying Toppik in Toronto".

Best wishes,

Bill (Falc)

GQ:

I understand your concern about id theft, but this id theft is completely overblown by the media. The theft is actually immaterial and it is not as common as you may think. There was some research this year that say the 20% of people KNOW SOMEONE who had been victim of id theft. Don't be confuse with actual people who are the victim of id theft, which would be way way way under 0.1%.

I work in credit for the past 5 years and i did meet only one person who had their id stolen, and even then his story was not straight.

I ordered Toppik online with http://www.fabaocanada.com/Toppik.html and had no problem at all. That being said i recently got an unauthorized charge from some online Casino on my credit card (i rarely use this card). So you still need to be careful and check all your transactions and order your free credit report from Equifax at least once a year.

thank you latinlotus,

yes i know about that website since it's the first one that pops out if you google it. anyways i see they say that S/H is free if you order over $100. so that medium container 50gm is CAD95.95 (plus tax is $100+). free S/H? how long will it last? how long you wait for the shipment? they ship UPS? fedex?

please let me know. thanks

I ordered toppik almost a year ago, so i forgot most of the details. I don't use it that much, i still have some left.

If you never use toppik, you may want to buy a smaller portion first. BTW don't buy the spray to go over the toppik. I find using regular hair spray is as good for holding toppik and prevent it from smearing to your cloths.

There use to be a place in Yorkville (Toronto) that carried it, if you live in the GTA, PM me and I will find out the name. I order from toppik.ca, no problems with identity theft yet, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened!

hi will27,

thanks a lot for the info but i gotta tell you right of the bat that i don't like the news one bit. we all know that Yorkville is one of the most expensive places on the face of the earth, and just a thought that i'll be paying $500 for the smallest container of toppik makes my hair fall off even more Smile i think i'll give dr. Robert Jones hair thickener a shot first once i get out of this lazy winter funk. and then i'll order the real deal from the website that you suggested for comparison reasons.

cheers!

no worries Mr. GQ, when I last checked the prices were not bad there. let me know if you change your mind. the toppik.ca guys have been amazing, fantastic customer service, quick shipping, etc. and they send out specials every once in a while. I use to buy from toppik.com which was a disaster being from canada and all. then i switched to ebay, but i find toppik.ca prices competitive and convenient.

I don't go to the store because don't want people in general to know that i use a concealer.
